Service Description

This full day workshop is ideal for an intermediate level sewer or beginner who has perhaps made a couple of garments. The workshop and the pattern are both in English. The workshop is for a maximum of two people so I can guide you through the dressmaking process at your own pace. You will learn how to construct a Boy's or girl's classic shirt and shorts. View A includes one-piece collar, long sleeves with cuffs, and chest pocket. View B has band collar and short sleeves. Both styles include button front placket and shirt-tail hem. Below-the-knee length elastic-waist shorts include front pockets and mock fly. You can choose you make the outfit for all sizes between 6 months and 12 years, (depending on the size you choose, your pattern will be for 6months to 4 years or 5 years to 12 years.) After successfully completing this workshop, you will have developed the following skills: buttonholes, collar, flat-set sleeves, front hip pocket, patch pockets, plackets, and pleats. The fee includes the sewing pattern (which is yours to take home), use of a sewing machine (per student) and all sewing notions. Fabric to use for the shirt and shorts is not included in the fee - it is available to purchase before the workshop commences from my shop or you can bring your own, i recommend: Light to medium-weight fabrics like quilting cotton, chambray, lawn and linen. The workshop and the pattern are both in English. Lunch is not provided but you are more than welcome to bring a picnic to enjoy in our grounds or indoors, alternatively Lembeye is 10 minutes away by car and has restaurants, a boulangerie and supermarket. The scheduled time is 9h00-12h00 and 13h00-18h00 but if you need extra time this can be arranged.
